A Request to All Cosplay Participants
Please refrain from the following types of expression at Tokyo Comic Con. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Expressions that may criticize or mock specific groups, races, genders, religions, politics, history, or cultures
- Expressions that may be mistaken for specific professions (military uniforms, police uniforms, etc.)
- Bringing in hazardous materials
- Excessive nudity

Cosplay Participation
- Cosplay registration is free for elementary school students and younger.
- Only if a parent or guardian is not participating in cosplay may one parent or guardian of the same gender accompany the child into the changing room.
*If a guardian is also cosplaying, please purchase one cosplay ticket. - To participate in the event in cosplay—regardless of whether your registration is paid or free—you must register at the cosplay registration desk located at the cosplay entrance to obtain a “Cosplay Participation Pass.” *A separate “Tokyo Comic Con 2026 Admission Ticket” is required for entry, and separate “Photo and Autograph Tickets” are required for photo sessions and autographs with celebrities.
- If you purchased your ticket in advance through Pia, please exchange it for a “Cosplay Participation Pass” at the cosplay registration desk.
- You can also purchase a “Cosplay Participation Pass” on the day of the event.
- Guests using only the coat check service can do so for ¥1,000 (tax included; cash only on the day of the event).
- We also offer “Early Changing Room Access,” allowing you to use the changing rooms starting at 9:00 AM on the 11th (Fri) and at 8:00 AM on the 12th (Sat) and 13th (Sun).
(Advance tickets only. Operating hours are subject to change due to operational circumstances.) - If you are only wearing fan merchandise such as a hat, cosplay registration is not required; however, “if you are wearing a cape or robe,” “if you wear a head covering that conceals your face at the venue,” or “if you bring weapons or props into the venue,” cosplay registration is required for security reasons, and you must carry a “Cosplay Participation Pass.”
- A “Cosplay Participation Pass” is required to enter the Celebrity Area in cosplay or to participate in photo sessions and autograph sessions.

Terms of Participation
“Tokyo Comicon” aims to be a free and participatory event befitting a comic convention held in Japan. As a general rule, cosplay is not limited to American comics; participants are welcome to cosplay as characters from all comics, novels, games, and tokusatsu works, both domestic and international.
We invite all participants to dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy this wonderful, limited-time experience.
Basic Prohibitions
- Photography outside the event venue
- Excessive skin exposure. Exposing underwear or items that appear to be underwear
- Wearing actual uniforms or military uniforms, whether current or historical (fictional uniforms from manga, anime, or movies are permitted)
- Bringing in knives, open flames, or other dangerous props
- Expressions that may criticize or mock specific groups, races, genders, religions, politics, history, or culture
Participation Information
- Cosplay participants must purchase a Tokyo Comic Con admission ticket plus a cosplay participation pass.
- A sales cap will be set for each type of participation pass. If they sell out during the advance sale, no participation passes will be sold on the day of the event. Please note that those who are unable to purchase a pass will not be able to participate in the event. (Additional passes may be sold in accordance with the event guidelines.)
- Please be sure to carry your “Cosplay Participation Pass” with you at all times during the event. Staff may approach you to verify it.
Costumes, Props, and Changing Areas
- Please use the changing rooms provided by the Tokyo Comic Con Secretariat. Changing clothes or applying makeup in the restrooms is prohibited. In the event of an emergency or other urgent situation, staff members of the opposite gender may enter the changing rooms after first addressing you.
- We ask that those using the changing rooms please cooperate by keeping their time there to a minimum.
- Please store all electronic devices, such as cell phones, digital cameras, and music players, in your personal belongings while inside the changing rooms. Staff may inspect participants’ personal belongings at their discretion.
- When moving around, please be considerate of those around you to ensure that your costume, weapons, long items, etc., do not bump into others.
- If wearing a short skirt or kimono, please wear leggings or other undergarments to cover your skin.
- Please take precautions to ensure that underwear and private parts are not visible, and cooperate to ensure your attire does not violate public decency.
- The organizers and the event management office assume no responsibility for any disadvantages or accidents caused by the content or type of cosplay.
- Please refrain from participating in costumes that may soil the changing rooms or venue.
- Please confirm that your costume and any props you bring do not violate the “Nuisance Prevention Ordinance,” the “Minor Offenses Act,” or the “Swords and Firearms Control Act.”
- Please use fake blood only after it has completely dried. The use of liquid-type fake blood is prohibited as it may stain the venue.
- Please carry any props or weapons with sharp edges in a bag or similar container.
- Please refrain from bringing dangerous props such as real knives, real swords, or model guns capable of firing.
- Regarding model guns, please ensure that all ammunition is removed and the gun is rendered inoperable before bringing it to the event.
- Event staff may approach you on the day of the event. In such cases, please follow the instructions of the event staff.
- For outfits that significantly reveal body contours, such as full-body tights, please wear nipple covers or groin protectors.
- If a participant is an elementary school student or younger and needs to use the changing room, one parent or guardian of the same gender may accompany them into the changing room, provided that the parent or guardian is not in cosplay. (No ticket is required for the accompanying person.) If the parent or guardian is also in cosplay, please purchase a ticket for one person.
About Photography and Socializing
- Please refrain from occupying a shooting location for extended periods of time. Staff may approach you to ask you to move.
- Please refrain from posing in a way that exposes underwear or taking photos from excessively low angles.
- As a general rule, tripods may be used as long as they do not take up too much space or obstruct pedestrian traffic. In some cases, staff may approach you to address this.
- Please refrain from using large equipment that obstructs pedestrian traffic.
- Please act with discretion regarding photography, video recording, and social interaction.
- Please obtain the subject’s consent before engaging in physical contact, such as posing for photos, shaking hands, or taking two-shot photos.
- Please refrain from taking photos without the subject’s consent.
- When uploading content to the internet or submitting it for publication in magazines or books, please obtain the subject’s permission before proceeding.
- If we discover covert photography or see-through photography using infrared cameras, we will delete the data on the spot and report the incident to the police or other relevant authorities.
- Please refrain from using props such as long objects, firearms, rackets, or balls for any purpose other than posing for photos. Please also refrain from swinging, kicking, or throwing these items.
About Taking Photos with Celebrities
- If you wish to take photos with celebrities while in cosplay, please register your cosplay in advance at the cosplay reception desk located at the cosplay entrance to obtain a “Cosplay Participation Pass.”
- Regarding cosplay photo sessions with individual celebrities, if staff determine that a particular cosplay is dangerous or constitutes a specific form of discriminatory expression, we may ask you to remove the relevant cosplay. If removing the cosplay is difficult, we may refuse to allow you to take photos in that particular cosplay.
