First Celebrity Line-Up for Tokyo Comic Con 2024 Announced!!Sebastian Stan and Jason Momoa’s First-Time Visit to Tokyo Comic Con Confirmed!
Tokyo Comic Convention Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Takehiko Goto) has announced the names of celebrities visiting the “Tokyo Comic Convention 2024” (hereinafter referred to as “Tokyo Comic Con 2024”), which will be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-Ku, Chiba City) from Friday, December 6, 2024, to Sunday, December 8, 2024.
The Arrival of Popular Actors Continues to Be Confirmed!!
The “Tokyo Comic Con 2023,” held at Makuhari Messe in December last year, attracted over 85,000 fans, setting a record for the highest attendance in Comic Con history. Additionally, “Osaka Comic Con 2024,” held in Osaka this past May, recorded 61,828 attendees, surpassing the previous Osaka event’s numbers. The popularity and recognition of both “Tokyo Comic Con” and “Osaka Comic Con” continue to grow each year. As a celebration of pop culture, these events deliver excitement and inspiration. This year, “Tokyo Comic Con 2024” will once again take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from Friday, December 6, 2024, to Sunday, December 8!
We are thrilled to announce the first wave of celebrities for “Tokyo Comic Con 2024.” The two guests confirmed are Sebastian Stan and Jason Momoa, both of whom are immensely popular in Japan. Both stars will be attending all days of “Tokyo Comic Con 2024,” and there will be photo sessions and autograph signings scheduled at the venue. (Details regarding ticket sales for photo sessions and autograph signings will be announced at a later date.)
Sebastian Stan is well-known for his roles in popular series such as “Gossip Girl,” where he played Carter Baizen, and “Once Upon a Time,” where he portrayed the Mad Hatter. He gained global fame for his role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film series “Captain America.” He continued to build on this success with appearances in various MCU projects and played a leading role in the Marvel Studios original series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” His career has continued to flourish with his compelling portrayal of drummer Tommy Lee in the miniseries “Pam & Tommy,” earning him nominations for the Emmy® and Golden Globe Awards, and winning the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor. Additionally, his performance in the film “A Different Man” was highly praised at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, where he won the Silver Bear Award.
Looking ahead, the release of “Thunderbolts*” in 2025, featuring a host of MCU anti-heroes, is eagerly anticipated.
Sebastian Stan was originally scheduled to appear at “Tokyo Comic Con 2019,” but had to cancel due to filming commitments. This will be his highly anticipated return to Japan after a five-year wait!
On the other hand, Jason Momoa gained recognition for his role as Khal Drogo in the hit series “Game of Thrones” and achieved massive success with his portrayal of Aquaman in the DC “Aquaman” series. He has continued to star in major films, including as Duncan in “Dune: Part Two” and as Dante in “Fast X,” establishing himself as a highly popular actor.
Upcoming projects include the latest installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Fast X: Part 2”, a live-action adaptation of the popular game “Minecraft”, and “The Carnival at the End of Days”, directed by Terry Gilliam and featuring Johnny Depp.
Jason Momoa, who is extremely popular in Japan, made his first appearance at a Japanese Comic Con at “Osaka Comic Con 2024,” where he attended for two days and delighted many fans with his presence.
