Tokyo Comic Convention Co., Ltd. (CEO: Takehiko Goto) has announced the ambassadors, PR ambassadors, main MCs, and new ticket information for Tokyo Comic Con 2024, which will be held from Friday, December 6 to Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Makuhari Messe (Chiba City, Mihama Ward).

Following Osaka Comic Con 2024, the Popular Actor Is Appointed Ambassador for Tokyo Comic Con 2024!

After the announcement of Jude Law, Mads Mikkelsen, and Hugh Dancy as confirmed celebrities for Tokyo Comic Con 2024, excitement is building on X (formerly Twitter) as fans eagerly await the arrival of the Hannibal duo and the actors who portrayed Grindelwald and young Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts series. Among the new additions, we are thrilled to announce that the very popular actor Takumi Saito will serve as the ambassador for Tokyo Comic Con 2024! Takumi also served as the ambassador for Osaka Comic Con 2024, where he welcomed many celebrities and passionately discussed film culture on the Cinema Stage, captivating the audience. His cosplay of “Ikiru”’s protagonist, Takashi Shimura, on the final day also created a buzz.

As a talented actor, Saito has received high praise for his roles in both films and dramas. Recently, he gained significant attention for his role as Toshikuni Matsunaga, the youngest son of the Matsunaga brothers, who founded All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling and represented the male-dominated society of the time, in the popular streaming drama “The Queen of Villains (Gokuaku Jouou).” In addition to acting, Saito has worked as a film director, with his directorial debut feature “blank13” winning eight awards at international film festivals. Last year, his latest directorial work “Sweet My Home” was released, and his upcoming film “Ookina Ie (The Big House),” which he produced and planned, will be released on December 6. Saito is also known for his involvement in humanitarian projects, such as running a mobile cinema called “cinéma bird” to bring films to children in disaster-stricken areas and developing countries, as well as his work as a black-and-white photographer.

Takumi Saito’s Profile

Born August 22, 1981. After working as a model in Paris Collection, Saito debuted as an actor in 2001. Recent notable works include starring in Hiyama Kentarou’s “He’s Expecting (2022, Netflix),” “Shin Ultraman (2022, screenplay by Hideaki Anno, directed by Shinji Higuchi),” “Downfall (2023, directed by Naoto Takenaka),” and starring in “Shin Kamen Rider (2023, written and directed by Hideaki Anno).” His film “blank13” earned eight awards at international film festivals, and he won the Best Director Award at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards for his direction of “Folklore: TATAMI (HBO Asia)” and “FOODLORE: Life in a Box.” His latest directorial work “Sweet My Home” was released in 2023, and his upcoming film “The Big House (directed by Ryō Takebayashi)” is set for release in December 2024. Saito also works as an executive producer for “When I Was a Human,” starring Danny Trejo, and heads the mobile cinema “cinéma bird,” among other projects.

PR Ambassador and Main MCs Announced for Tokyo Comic Con 2024!

Following the appointment of the ambassador, the PR ambassador has also been announced! This year, Moe Iori will return as PR Ambassador, continuing from Tokyo Comic Con 2023. Iori is a popular cosplayer, gravure idol, and radio personality, and has amassed over 5 million followers across her social media platforms. Known for her passion for films, Iori made a memorable appearance at the opening stage of Tokyo Comic Con 2023 dressed as Hermione from the Harry Potter series. Fans are excited to see what kind of cosplay she will present this year!

A cosplayer, gravure idol, and streamer active mainly in Asia. With over 5 million followers across her social media accounts (as of October 2024), Iori has appeared on more than 150 magazine covers. She is also one of Japan’s most famous female streamers, having been involved in popular franchises like “Tokyo Revengers,” “Re:Zero,” “My Dress-Up Darling,” and “Arknights.”

Additionally, the beloved couple LiLiCo and Ryohei Odai have been appointed as the main MCs! LiLiCo is a renowned film commentator and talent who has interviewed many international stars and appeared on numerous TV shows, radio programs, and even voiced characters for anime like “South Park.” At Osaka Comic Con 2024, LiLiCo surprised the audience by appearing as Joker and performing a Whitney Houston song, touching the hearts of everyone in the venue. She was joined by her husband, Ryohei Odai, who is a former member of the musical group Junretsu, which performed on NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen for five consecutive years. Odai is also a huge fan of American comics and has a vast collection of figures. Together, the couple will bring excitement to Tokyo Comic Con 2024, leading stage events and activities from December 6 to 8!

LiLiCo Profile

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1970, LiLiCo moved to Japan at age 18 and began her entertainment career in 1989. She is a film commentator on TBS’s “King’s Brunch” and has appeared on many TV and radio programs. She also voiced the character Eric Cartman in the Japanese dub of South Park. In 2020, LiLiCo was one of 14 international hosts for DC FANDOME. She is also active in fashion design, having created her own clothing and jewelry lines.

Ryohei Odai Profile

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1971, Odai made his acting debut in “Kamen Rider Ryuki” as Kiba/Masked Rider Zolda. He was a member of the Japanese artist group Junretsu from 2007 to 2022, appearing at NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen five years in a row. After leaving Junretsu in 2022, Odai became a multi-talented entertainer, working as a reporter, musical theater actor, and commentator on variety shows.
