(CEO: Takehiko Goto) has announced the main visual for “Tokyo Comic Convention 2024” (hereinafter referred to as “Tokyo Comic Con 2024”), which will be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-Ku, Chiba City) from Friday, December 6, 2024, to Sunday, December 8, 2024, along with the launch of the cosplay collection.

The main visual contest, which started in “Tokyo Comic Con 2019” (the fourth year), is now reaching its sixth iteration at this year’s Tokyo Comic Con! It has steadily become a popular content, with voices proclaiming, “When it comes to Comic Con, it’s all about the main visual contest!” This year’s contest was held over approximately three months starting in June 2024, attracting numerous outstanding works from professionals, amateurs, and students from around the world. Finally, the main visual that will become the face of “Tokyo Comic Con 2024” has been decided! The grand prize winner selected from the many submitted works is a piece by the artist VASTAR. VASTAR is a street artist active in Taiwan, known for his street art created using materials like scrap, spray cans, scrap metal, wood, and bricks. He has collaborated with many brands, including SWATCH, GOGORO, SEGA, and NIKE. Additionally, he has been invited to numerous international art exhibitions, making him one of the promising artists to watch in the future.

In response to winning the grand prize, VASTAR commented, “Joy and gratitude alone cannot fully express the emotions I feel. I still find it hard to believe that my work will be seen by the world. However, like the great culture of manga, I believe that anything is possible. As a child, while flipping through the pages of fantastical worlds in books and dreaming of becoming anyone, I am truly happy to be a part of that journey in my own creative path. In the world of imagination, ‘you’ are the protagonist opening a new chapter!” His comments clearly express his excitement about the award.

The main visual created by grand prize winner VASTAR will be featured on the official website of “Tokyo Comic Con 2024,” as well as on the cover of the pamphlet and various Comic Con merchandise. Additionally, VASTAR will receive a booth (one booth) in the Artist Alley area, where he will showcase and sell his work during “Tokyo Comic Con 2024.” This area is a highly popular space that hosts artists and creators who work with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and more.
